This omnibus film that takes place in Germany's capital - as a part of the Cities of Love series (Los Angeles is the next one up) - consists of ten shorts, most dealing with love and loneliness, with one of them, about an Israeli busker who falls in love with a local performance artist, 'holding' the other nine together. The majority of these storylines range from not-good to pointless, the most notably terrible ones being about a talking car ("Berlin Ride"), some dimwitted #Time'sUp 'statement' ("Me Three") and the bit that has Helen Mirren becoming a humanitarian after sharing a meal with a refugee ("Under Your Feet"). If I had to pick the most tolerable of the bunch, I'd say it's "Embassy" with Sibel Kekilli and Iwan Rheon (although it needs fleshing out) and "Love Is in the Air," because who doesn't want to see Mickey Rourke in an incestuous hotel hookup plot penned by Neil LaBute? (Jeepers!)
