Colette

Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette (Keira Knightley) is encouraged - no, forced - by her shameless rake of a husband Henry Gauthier-Villars, a.k.a. Willy (Dominic West) to write for him to make them some money ... and she does, and the books become a success, but he takes credit for their creation. As far as biopics go, it's even less involving than most of them, with Westmoreland way more concerned with framing Colette as a sexually ambiguous figure (did Donna Tartt take sartorial lessons from her?) than as a writer: so much attention is paid to both her and Willy's forays with other women. Maybe they'd have been better off just making a condensed version of the Claudine books and called it a day?
