Mamma Mia!

Twenty-year-old Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), who lives on a Greek island with her single mother Donna (Meryl Streep) and is about to marry her boyfriend Sky (Dominic Cooper), invites three of Mom's ex-lovers (Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan) to attend the ceremony in the hopes of finding out which one of them is her biological Pa. It's thick schmaltz with a hardly-there storyline and campy use of Swedish pop band ABBA's discography (there's a new song every five minutes or so) - ironically, the freshest part of it is that they do not reveal who Sophie's father really is (what, there's no equivalent of Maury Povich in all of Greece?). Streep shows off her pipes, but gimme! gimme! gimme! multiple shots of Ouzo every time Brosnan is given a number to 'perform' (stick to looking smug, Pierce).
