The Original Kings of Comedy
Director: Spike Lee
Year Released: 2000
Rating: 2.5
I'm struggling to be original, yet unable to come up with any new criticism for this comedy-concert picture: it could have directed by pretty much anybody who has the technical ability to turn on and use a camera, and then shown on HBO (where it should have played in the first place). Looks ugly - digital video strikes again - and runs too long, but who wouldn't like Bernie Mac telling the truth about how crazy kids are, or D.L. Hughley insulting audience members, or Cedric the Entertainer singing his own reggae ditty ("Peanut Butter & Jam") or Steve Harvey dancing to his favorite 'makin' love' song?
