Doctor Strange

Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), a very cocky surgeon, drives a little too fast one day and gets into a terrible accident damaging his hands, effectively ending his career ... to try to fix them, he undergoes an experimental treatment under tutelage from The Ancient One (Queen Tilda), who shows his scientific mind there's more to the universe than just one dimension (wooo mysticism!). Marvel Studios have a (tired) template they follow (religiously) and this one (detrimentally) follows it: a normal person is ruined, transformed and then before anyone knows it, that newfound super-being is flying into space with a magic cape and talking to a giant head. To combat the staleness of the script are some impressively trippy, matter-bending visual tricks and Cumberbatch himself, self-confident but not quite reaching a Tony Stark-level of sarcasm.
