Let's Go to Prison
Director: Bob Odenkirk
Year Released: 2006
Rating: 2.0
Career criminal John (Dax Shepard), out for revenge against the Judge who sentenced him, decides to get re-arrested (?) just so he can follow the Judge's son Nelson Biederman IV (Will Arnett) to prison - Nelson was busted for acting like a maniac in a pharmacy - and torture him. The plot is beyond stupid and the emphasis on prison rape is strongly homophobic (though it does have a happy ending! cheers to toilet wine!), but there are some laugh-out-loud moments (depending on how low¬-brow you feel) and an always-welcome appearance by the always-intense Michael Shannon as a White Supremacist. It takes its fair share of digs at the corrupt American penal system, which needs a serious re-haul.
