Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising
Director: Nicholas Stoller
Year Released: 2016
Rating: 0.5
Cash-grab sequel to the first Seth Rogan vs. Zac Efron and His Frat has Rogan and wife (Rose Byrne) trying to sell their house, but having to deal with a progressive sorority moving in next door (led by Chloƫ Grace Moretz and Kiersey Clemons) - there to play suburban Yojimbo is Efron. I consider it an ever-so-slight improvement on the hugely unamusing original if only because it tries - feebly - to address feminist issues: Moretz and the ladies want to be viewed as more than just sexual objects and they want to throw parties just like the fraternities do ... except the movie has no idea where else to go with the concept (the girls make a video, purchase both houses and that's basically all there is to it). It's worth noting that some of the side characters are more entertaining than the core cast: Nora Lum and Ike Barinholtz are scene-stealers.
