Stoner/store clerk Howell (Jesse Eisenberg) - who lives with his incredibly sympathetic girlfriend Phoebe (Kristen Stewart) - turns out to be a Super Secret Assassin for the CIA (!) and a Bad CIA Man (Topher Grace) tries to kill him and Good CIA Lady (Connie Britton) tries to protect him! Written by an 11-year-old Max Landis - who is better at computers than his Dad, the little stinker! - it's more concerned with its hipster elements (weed! 'zines! sexually ambiguous lady friend!) and staging long chase-and-fight sequences instead of character development and dialogue. No one would ever mistake Eisenberg - who can be a fine performer in the right role - for a killer, but I guess that's part of the forced "quirkiness." Also: the title is a reference to the MKULTRA program, but don't expect any in-depth examination of that debacle.
