Jurassic World
Director: Colin Trevorrow
Year Released: 2015
Rating: 1.0
An industrialist (Irrfan Khan) reopens the classic Jurassic Park theme park - which is managed by Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) and has its the raptors 'controlled' by military vet Owen (Chris Pratt) - and guess what happens? No, you have to guess. Done guessing? The dinosaurs break free and attack each other and the park visitors! Who'd have thunk it? Predictable, flat and kind of a drag, making mention of the classic Spielberg movie numerous times does little on a meta-level ("We're aware this is a rehash") and the screenwriters seem to have forgotten about character development (the two teens roaming free in the park are barely 'people'), worrying more about the set pieces. Also prevalent: family issues (resolved by almost being murdered by prehistoric creatures).
