The Big Store
Director: Charles Reisner
Year Released: 1941
Rating: 2.0
Substandard Marx. Bros. movie - with yet another minimalist plot (about keeping crooks from taking over some store, I think) - and even more wacked humor. I think Reisner and the screenwriters thought they were making a musical, as there are more songs than funny Groucho-type witticisms or buffoonish Harpo antics (cutting ties, setting things on fire). Tries hard and fails - death is still easier, I suppose.
