Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa
Director: Jeff Tremaine
Year Released: 2013
Rating: 1.0
"Grandpa" (Johnny Knoxville, in lots of makeup) has to escort his grandson Billy (Jackson Nicoll) to be with his biological father (Greg Harris) - along the way Grandpa acts like a dirty old man and occasionally confuses a soda machine for a sexual orifice. Basically a one-joke premise milked to death (Grandpa is horny!), the planned skits are a mixed-bag: though Tremaine and his crew hit on one or two, most are predictable, derivative and sexist/racist (I suppose they're playing off the notion that Old Men Say The Darnedest Things ... And Can Get Away With It). The previous Jackass movies (and TV show) made no attempt to create a plot - the diverse crew simply came up with the most ridiculous ideas and ran with them, stitching scene after scene with gleeful anarchy (essentially Mondo documentaries for the modern age) while this installment reeks of staleness ... and the smell isn't emanating from Grandpa's loins.
