Casa de mi Padre

Ooh, a comedy featuring Will Ferrell speaking español (no dubbing): that certainly has to be funny, right? In a gimmick better suited for a (very) short film, Ferrell plays a Mexican who has to defend his father's ranch from a notorious drug lord (Gael García Bernal), win the girl, yadda yadda. Intended as a "satire" of a Mexican soap opera, it hardly makes an impression and needed to be more extreme and outré to be even remotely effective: when it has to rely on sight gags (Bernal chain-smoking, Ferrell struggling to roll a cigarette) and animatronics (a talking white lion someone smuggled out of a Disney ride), it's just Trying Too Hard.
