Director: Frank Zappa and Tony Palmer
Year Released: 1971
Rating: 2.0

Following the basic premise that the act of touring (as a band) can make you absolutely crazy, Zappa unleashes this maelstrom of wonky video imagery and songs; for a man who absolutely hated drug use (with good reason), this seems like the work of someone on drugs. Some of the video effects are dizzying and some of this is positively delightful, though anyone expecting a narrative or point will be (purposely) frustrated: it's (music) video art. At the very least, you can turn it on, ignore the stroboscopic effects and rapid cutting and just enjoy the majesty of Zappa's gonzo compositions.
