Our Idiot Brother
Director: Jesse Peretz
Year Released: 2011
Rating: 1.0
A truth addict and hippie (Paul Rudd) gets out of jail for selling weed to a cop, is rejected by his "girlfriend" and ends up crashing at his sisters' places (Emily Mortimer, Elizabeth Banks and Le Zooey), where his inability to keep his mouth shut makes a mess of their lives. The laughs are very few and very far between, and the mechanics are achingly simple, with the picture suggesting that a lazy Bohemian is the holder of Wisdom and capable of freeing everyone from their bonds and making their existences better. The last time I listened to a hippie I ended up running from the police and having to hide in the bushes.
