The Funhouse
Director: Tobe Hooper
Year Released: 1981
Rating: 2.0
Four bored, mischievous high school kids decide to spend the night in the local funhouse on a dare, but discover that them there carnie folk sure are murderous cretins. I found it to be much better as teen fare before it got into its horror elements, when it becomes silly and incomprehensible - plus, one of the monsters from Xtro appears in here (and appears to have developed a human body). The opening sequence, which borrows from both Carpenter and Hitchcock, shows a tongue-in-cheek cleverness not found in the movie that follows.
