Hobo With a Shotgun

Director: Jason Eisener
Year Released: 2011
Rating: 2.0

A derelict (Rutger Hauer) comes to a lawless town and grows sick of the depravity, so he turns into a vigilante and starts shooting off people's heads (with the help of a kindly hooker). Any kind of "morality" apparent in this movie is basically a joke, and while gorehounds will certainly appreciate the maximum amount of violence, the endless massacre grows stale kind of quickly, with the central gimmick (of a hobo ... with a shotgun) giving way to a wait-and-see game for the next creative death and/or mutilation. It has some witty moments (I happen to like characters dressed in armor who claim to have killed Christ and Joan of Arc), but it's basically Sensory Overload. Vital question: since when do prostitutes know how to use a blowtorch?
