House on Haunted Hill
Director: William Castle
Year Released: 1957
Rating: 2.0
Castle was known for his movie gimmickry and showmanship than for his actual films; if House on Haunted Hill is his best work, I think I'll be staying away from the rest. Vincent Price invites over people to his house with the promise that if they survive, they'll receive money ($10,000 each). Constant, logical pitfalls and (expected) campiness turned me against it; aside from Price, most of the acting is terrible. I have to applaud Castle on his style, though - for being a "B-movie" director with miniscule budgets, House looks half-decent.
