Winnie the Pooh
Director: Stephen J. Anderson and Don Hall
Year Released: 2011
Rating: 3.0
Slight (very, very slight) Dadaesque revisit of the ol' Pooh kingdom, this time with the 'huney'-obsessed bear, together with his supremely clueless crew, seeking out sad bastard Eeyore's missing tail. Running at about 55 minutes, it seems like an extended version of a TV episode, but the tale is adorable, as the bumbling fictitious misfits just can't seem to do anything right ... but still end up successful in the end. It's also quite a relief to see the Disney gurus making an 'animated' movie the old fashioned way: no CGI, lots of pencils. It's supreme nostalgia.
