Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I
Director: David Yates
Year Released: 2010
Rating: 1.5
Part one of the two-part concluding chapter of the tired, inexplicably popular Potter series has Harry and pals searching for mystical amulets called Horcruxes that he needs to smash up to get at domineering Lord Voldemort. The picture is basically on autopilot, and probably rewards those who slogged through the thousands of pages Rowling spat out - I was more taken aback by how incredibly dark and blue it is, as if the budget didn't allow time to set up more lights. I still don't find Daniel Radcliffe to be a powerful screen presence, though I'm assured he's a skilled stage actor.
