Horrible Bosses
Director: Seth Gordon
Year Released: 2011
Rating: 2.0
Three unhappy workers (Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis) seek revenge on their cruel supervisors (Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell) and try to come up with a way to kill them and make their lives easier (apparently none of the unhappy workers considered using Monster.com). There really is a good core point in this about our 'current times' and office politics and fear of unemployment, though the bosses are such grotesque caricatures (evil is rarely so overt) and the humor so awkward (oh wow, Aniston can try to talk dirty; oh wow, Charlie Day's crackling voice is grating), it's hardly satisfying. Spacey did this sort of thing with more nuance in Swimming with Sharks.
