How Tasty Was My Little Frenchman
Director: Nelson Pereira dos Santos
Year Released: 1971
Rating: 1.5
A French soldier is taken captive by a tribe of cannibals who think he's Portuguese, but this is a peculiar band of savages and they give him a beautiful wife and a ton of time to play in the fields of the Lord (instead of killing him and eating him immediately). Strangely, he hangs around to welcome his fate. Superficial as any kind of anti-Imperialist statement, it looks like a picture shot at a nudist camp on the weekends - the abundant private parts only provide so much distraction before the tacky, amateur filmmaking drags it down (and ugh, all those intertitles with banal quotations!).
