Gnomeo and Juliet

Director: Kelly Asbury
Year Released: 2011
Rating: 0.0

Insultingly awful insult to the Bard takes Romeo and Juliet and sets it among the world of (suitably) hollow lawn gnomes who race lawnmowers and engage in racism. I doubt that this is a fitting introduction for the kiddies to the World of Shakespeare, although if anyone is going to stomach a Rebel Without a Cause drag race (set to "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting") it's a five-year-old. Anyone older and/or possessing a healthy set of neurons will no doubt find the majority of this intolerable: nothing in this drivel is quite as funny as the idea that producer/mastermind Elton John worked on this for 11 years. My hope: he funds a future version of Macbeth with paper dolls (don't worry: that idea only took me 11 seconds).
