Villa Santo Sospir, La

Director: Jean Cocteau
Year Released: 1952
Rating: 3.0

A short, color 16mm film, shot by Cocteau himself (who makes a great narrator - he explains how he always tells amateurs to use 16mm and never had himself; he also admits he tries to make amateurish films rather than emulate professional techniques) of his artwork, which adorns the villa of the title (as well as some work on canvases). It's all quite lovely - I'd have loved to see him working on something unfinished - and a fabulous chance to see a master of multiple mediums showcasing his mythic murals.
