Chloe
Director: Atom Egoyan
Year Released: 2009
Rating: 1.5
Cupie-doll prostitute (Amanda Seyfried) 'helps' a gynecologist (Julianne Moore) try to figure out of her husband, a college professor (Liam Neeson), is unfaithful to her ... but weirdly enough, the gynecologist is turned on by the prostitute's stories, and the two become involved. Aside from Seyfried being a less-than-adequate two-timing schemer - unlike Emmanuelle Béart in Nathalie... - everything is telegraphed, though thankfully Moore's skillful enough not to make herself look completely ridiculous. The dialogue is outright laughable and the lesbian scenes earn a lot of eye-rolling: Egoyan's trying for artistry - and was last successful with Exotica well over a decade ago - but this is Red Shoe Diaries-type drivel.
