Place de la République
Director: Louis Malle
Year Released: 1974
Rating: 1.5
Malle wanders around the title street in Paris, filming conversations with various people: a cross-section of life in the mid-70's. Trouble is, few of the chats are illuminating and the picture drags along in search of meaning, with several citizens given to delivering diatribes about ... well, nothing at all (Louis, pipe in mouth, lets them - and his movie - ramble). It's very laissez faire ... and lazy.
