A Booze Baron's daughter (the bland Betty Balfour) - who defies her father by trying to marry a supposed 'gold digger' - gets "taught a lesson" by her Pop, who tells her he's lost all his money and that she needs to get a job. Low-tier Hitchcock has little to recommend except for a few camera tricks - the plotting is especially weak, as the "lesson" is a minor one: Daddy still has his riches, her "job" at a cabaret lasts all of one night and she marries the 'gold digger' any way (with Papa's permission). Why couldn't he have just beaten her with a broom like a normal father and been done with it?
