L'Iceberg
Director: Dominique Abel, Fiona Gordon and Bruno Romy
Year Released: 2005
Rating: 2.5
After a woman accidentally locks herself in a fast food joint's freezer overnight and her husband fails to notice she's gone, she leaves him to go with a deaf boat captain and sail the seas. Minor fun for those who find pratfalls and sight gags to be their idea of a good time (people who take to the films of Aki Kaurismäki, for example): there are a couple very funny setups, though the entire picture is more a curiosity than anything especially lasting (and yes, the title iceberg does represent emotional frigidity). I actually find myself missing the vaudeville-type routines of the silent greats (Keaton, Tati, Arbuckle - you know the names), and though this (certainly) pales in comparison, it has just enough charm to keep it out of the already loaded bin of mediocre comedies.
