Director: Zoe R. Cassavetes
Year Released: 2007
Rating: 2.0
Neurotic, unloved New Yorker (Parker Posey, not stretching herself) goes through a series of bad relationships (that are partially her fault) before falling for a kind French man who leaves her and goes back home - she follows him, she finds him, the future is full of opportunities. Not much in terms of dynamic set-up or payoff, and the ending would have been much more poignant if she didn't find him (in all of Paris) and realize that she can be happy alone and/or patient to find someone who is right for her, but Cassavetes doesn't think this past the dime romance novel level of plotting and development. I guess the price we have to pay for the brilliance of John C. we pay for in the form of Zoe and Nick. Nepotism, Hollywood, etc.
