Dagon
Director: Stuart Gordon
Year Released: 2001
Rating: 2.0
Another Lovecraft adaptation - courtesy of his main cinematic interpreter, Stuart Gordon - that has unsuspecting visitors to Spain attacked by a race of fish people who worship Cthulhu (fhtagn!). Based on what I've seen of Gordon's work it seems his pictures improve as they go along and this is not an exception - the trouble is, the lunacy of the last act is the best part of this, leaving acts one and two to appear all the more plodding and familiar (lots of chasing, Ezra Godden playing with his glasses, more chasing, Ezra Godden falling down, etc.).
