American Boy: A Profile of: Steven Prince
Director: Martin Scorsese
Year Released: 1978
Rating: 2.0
Marty, in his good ol' coked-out days, pulls aside eclectic loon Steven Prince and makes him talk for fifty minutes about various episodes in his life, some of which are so deliriously weird I'm not sure he's telling the truth (when it comes to his family life, Prince gets suspiciously vague). For someone of Scorsese's caliber this is sloppy and lightweight, but it does fit into the Weird Outsider category so auteur theorists who like to group things will find a nice shelf to store this one on. If it's true that happy men have no tales, Prince must be one morose bastard.
