Girl With a Suitcase
Director: Valerio Zurlini
Year Released: 1961
Rating: 1.0
Claudia Cardinale gets dropped by one suitor only to pick up his younger brother who pays her hotel bills ... but is devastated when she drifts from man to man. It's played too above-board to really hit hard in any way - Zurlini's too busy making Cardinale out to be a Madonna (he's obsessed with her face, though you can see why) when she's really a high-minded, egocentric Whore. What should have been a snappy 90 minute movie drags on for close to two hours, which could be due to either Zurlini's pacing problems or just a personal issue of me trying to find this particular picture's older woman/younger man scenario tenable.
