Spider-Man 3
Director: Sam Raimi
Year Released: 2007
Rating: 2.0
Third Spider-Man movie has Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) encountering the emo within him (nice dig at Conor Oberst, Sam), losing his girlfriend (Kirsten Dunst) and battling against three different baddies, not to mention himself. I don't follow the common critique that it's not 'as good' as the first two Spider-Man movies, since it's essentially the same damn thing (it's based on a comic book - there aren't many places you can really go with it): I'd argue it's a smidge better than the first two since I think it takes itself considerably less seriously (the Bruce Campbell scene in the French restaurant is funny) though, of course, there are still your 'sad moments,' namely the plot pieces involving James Franco and Thomas Haden Church. Be true to yourself, don't let your ego get in the way of relating to others, etc.
