The Hours and Times
Director: Christopher Münch
Year Released: 1991
Rating: 3.5
'Fictitious' depiction of the now-infamous trip John Lennon and manager Brian Epstein took to Barcelona and the rumored sexual goings-on between the two of them during that time. The hazy black-and-white photography and on-location shooting work splendidly with the on-target dialogue and performances - Ian Hart plays Lennon as aloof and verbally caustic while David Angus, as Epstein, is wide-eyed with lust but smart enough to know that a sexual relationship can never work. It's slight, in a way, running a slim 60 minutes and it relies a good deal on the inherent fame of its subjects, but the mood and experimental feel certainly compensate.
