Green for Danger

There's a whole lot of foul play taking place in a British hospital during WWII, and it takes aggressive detective Alaister Sim to try sort it out. The first half-hour is all set-up, methodically making sure each and every nurse and doctor a suspect; the following hour is preposterous, as Sim has them re-enact surgery on a perfectly healthy woman to 'test' his theory. Lacks the humor and charm of, for example, The Thin Man and isn't foreboding or moody like The Big Sleep, but at least Sim's curmudgeon shows a kind of dogged tenacity while everyone watches him, waiting for a verdict.
