Wassup Rockers
Director: Larry Clark
Year Released: 2005
Rating: 1.5
Variation on 1995's Kids by 60-something teenager-at-heart Clark with Hispanic teens from South Central embracing punk culture and all that goes with it, especially skateboarding, unintelligible music and malt liquor. There's even less of a plot than usual, however, and the 'send-up' of stereotypes (rich white kids, dangerous African-American kids, eccentric Hollywood types) isn't exactly groundbreaking - also, unlike the kids in Kids, these rockers don't even get close to being convincing performers. I still prefer Clark's photography to his movies.
