The Stuff
Director: Larry Cohen
Year Released: 1985
Rating: 0.5
A cross between marshmallow fluff and caulk is mass-marketed to American families, who gobble it up - turns out, it's actually some sort of creature and it's consuming its consumers. Knowing this is a Larry Cohen movie I recognized the social critique, but did Larry have to make the movie this bad? Leonard Maltin's point about it not being either a comedy or horror film is its major problem, not to mention all the plot contrivances, terrible acting (with the exception of Michael Moriarty, who plays it correctly) and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes-level effects.
