Kill!
Director: Kihachi Okamoto
Year Released: 1968
Rating: 2.5
A samurai and a vagrant find themselves in the middle of a clan battle in this parody of other samurai-themed films. Sanjuro is based on the same source text and arguably a more compact and pleasantly tongue-in-cheek picture, though it's unfair to compare this to that picture, considering the timeless pairing of Akira Kurosawa with Toshiro Mifune. This is certainly exuberant and exaggerated - a decent interpretation in its own right - though I admit to finding it (for me) convoluted and tough to follow.
