Another video-game-to-movie wreck of a movie - this one takes the PS2 game Silent Hill as its template and sends Radha Mitchell in search of her missing daughter, dashing past freaks without faces and a giant dude with a giant sword who rips the skin off of people. While I had hoped for some gory, mindless fun, this chose instead to be offensively plodding, repetitive and preachy - the script, by Roger Avary, appears to have something Very Important to say about religious fanaticism. Should have stayed in playable form, you know - with a controller and memory card, etc.
