Fulltime Killer
Director: Johnny To and Wai Ka Fai
Year Released: 2001
Rating: 1.0
Two assassins compete with each other for the ranking of 'greatest killer' in this wholly uninteresting 'action pic' with copious gunplay but minimal brain waves - its moronic dialogue and flashiness are due to the fact that the movie is actually being 'written' by a detective who, quite frankly, isn't that good a writer. The attempt to recapture the success of John Woo's early work is nice but the time has passed, and I honestly prefer Suzuki's completely preposterous Branded to Kill to these serious 'hit man' movies. Andy Lau is no Chow Yun-Fat.
