Song of the Thin Man
Director: Edward Buzzell
Year Released: 1947
Rating: 2.0
This is the final film in the Thin Man series and, quite frankly, it's a good thing, because this is only an average effort. The chemistry between Myrna Loy and William Powell that was so key in past isn't as potent and the crime-to-solve is, quite frankly, lame, like what they'd generally have Matlock solve on plain old television. There aren't many - if any - laughs (I blame that fact that the couple's rabid drinking tapered off as the series went on), and the supporting characters aren't distinctive. Goodbye, Nick & Nora.
