Eros

Director: Wong Kar-Wai, Steven Soderbergh and Michelangelo Antonioni
Year Released: 2004
Rating: 1.0

Three lackluster films by some major filmmaking talents (oh, and Soderbergh) about sexual love, none of which even gets close to being a respectable entry in any of their filmographies. I'd dare say Antonioni's little snippet is the worst, turning more into an exercise of filming nude models; Wong's "The Hand" feels like a test reel to 2046 and Soderbergh's entry, which doesn't fit in with the style of either Wong or Antonioni, is also too short to really get moving, and seems more like a pilot for a TV series I'd actually be interested in seeing. These "collaborative" efforts are generally more compelling in theory than practical application - just like the 9/11 project some years back, or The Witches (from 1966).
