Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Director: Doug Liman
Year Released: 2005
Rating: 2.0
Husband and wife assassins (who have no knowledge of each other's 'real profession') botch up a job and have to take each other out - if you thought you and your spouse didn't talk, these two kept it quiet for five (or six) years. I admit to liking Liman's approach to it - "take nothing seriously" - and both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have chemistry together, but the movie doesn't even begin to make sense in any logical or psychological way. Mindless pleasure is only pleasurable for me as long as I'm made unaware it's mindless; this went from 'breezy fun' to 'fluff' in a hurry.
