My Voyage to Italy

Director: Martin Scorsese
Year Released: 1999
Rating: 2.0

The "voyage" to Italy is merely a mental one, as director Scorsese doesn't leave the living room of someone else's apartment to talk about - and show clips of - classic Italian films. If you've seen almost all of the films (like I have), it's four hours of been-there, done-that, though the point of the film is to get young moviegoers to seek out the movies Mr. Scorsese loves, the ones that are not in color and make you think. To that extent, it's a noble effort, but what young filmgoer wants to sit through four hours of classic clips? I'd say, if you have the time, rent La Dolce Vita and start there.
