Léon: The Professional

Director: Luc Besson
Year Released: 1994
Rating: 2.5

This '94 release has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, especially since I've been aging right along side Ms. Portman - I didn't realize, when watching back when it came out (in its trimmed U.S. version) how questionable her relationship with Jean Reno was or find Gary Oldman's cartoon antics to be quite as silly as they do now (hey, my favorite movie at the time was The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, so what did I know?). Re-seeing this extended "international" version over a decade later, I find it - even with the added footage - still under-developed, though in Besson's defense, at least he's having a lot of fun.
