Swing Shift

Director: Jonathan Demme
Year Released: 1984
Rating: 1.5

After housewife Goldie Hawn's husband (Ed Harris) goes to fight in World War II, she does 'her part' by getting a job in a factory to make planes where she meets and falls in love with Kurt Russell (after much cajoling by a persistent Russell). The arc is predictable - she has to end up with her husband again - and there's an uneasy message about how men and women aren't compatible in the work place (the best place for a woman is home, where her cheating heart can't get the best of her).
