The Pornographers

Director: Shohei Imamura
Year Released: 1966
Rating: 1.0

This chronicles the life of two men who make blue movies with 8mm cameras and face opposition from the police who consider it 'immoral.' But the men still feel that all their doing is running a business. One of the side plots involves a woman sexually involved with her son, another has one of the pornographers sleeping with her teenage daughter, and finally there's some nonsense involving a massive carp that contains the soul of the woman's dead husband. It sounds fascinating on paper, but on screen it's a chore.
