The Butterfly Effect
Director: Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber
Year Released: 2004
Rating: 1.0
After some traumatic experiences in childhood, a young quasi-epileptic (Ashton Kutcher) goes back into his own mind to change them - or time-shift, whatever - and 'correct' the mistakes, or at least make peace with the tragedies. Yet, nothing that follows makes much sense, since the movie tries to do too much and gets lost in its own stupid logic, like when Kutcher is able to remember some of the 'alternative' choices he made but wanted to re-arrange them (he gets countless opportunities to go back and 'try' different options - the different options either aid or hurt people in his life). It's like one of those "Choose Your Own Adventures" books that were popular when I was a wee-lad ... and just as juvenile.
