The Fast and the Furious

Director: Rob Cohen
Year Released: 2001
Rating: 1.0

Brain-dead racing picture where cars are given more attention than girls - exotic Jordana Brewster and terminally pissed off Michelle Rodriguez look adorable but they're only accessories, like rims or a neon green spoiler - and where the guys are too busy showing off to each other - their street racing in Los Angeles is less Rebel Without a Cause and more backyard pissing contest. The Screenplay and characters are horribly written - the dialogue is truly odious and the movie's inhabitants could never pass for real people; the only genuine standout - as always - is Vin Diesel, who makes for the perfect anti-hero (also see his character in Boiler Room, XXX and Pitch Black).
