Bubba Ho-Tep

Year Released: 2002

An older Elvis and John F. Kennedy do battle with an Egyptian Mummy in this tongue-in-cheek comedy; once the novelty of the situation wears off, there isn't anyplace for it to go. While touted as a horror film, it isn't scary - Coscarelli tinkers with the editing by using stroboscopic effects and time-lapse photography but that's about it - and feels lethargic (like its characters), yet the casting of Bruce Campbell as the King somehow seems perfect (who else could play him?) and Ossie Davis' deadpan delivery is quite funny.
