Feather-weight romantic film about a dance singer waiting for a former flame to show up and take her and their son away (she met him on her 14th birthday); running parallel to her story is that of an actual 14-year-old girl and her day at the fair with her very own sailor. In the middle are several other characters not given much depth - a man who is sick of working, a very concerned mother - and the story, completely lacking in conflict or tension or drama or comedic interest, just blows by without much struggle; it's both effortless and immediately forgettable.
